Description/Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:  Serves as primary agent for servicing and retention of crop and hail policies in established portfolio.
Areas of responsibility include:
  • Utilize standardized processes to service policies; including policy changes, collecting production history, acreage information and reporting losses for policy holders in established portfolio.
    • Ensure timely submission of insurance documents and maintenance of insurance policy files.  Utilize insurance website reports, resources, and processes to assure complete and accurate reporting and to assure reporting deadlines are met to protect coverage.  May include identification of insurance document index values and/or scanning of documents.
    • Complete the editing as assigned for processed insurance documents such as acreage reports, confirmation of coverage forms, production reports and schedules of insurance.
    • Utilize multiple insurance company and government websites to obtain general information and to monitor progress regarding specific policies
  • Communicates coverage options to walk-in customers, demonstrating basic understanding of insurance product performance.  Utilize insurance website tools, policy provisions, and other resources to assist customer in making risk management decisions.  Serves as primary point of contact for assigned customer’s base on product and coverage options and policy changes and requirements.
  • Facilitate problem resolution to customer’s satisfaction, which may include involving other members of the Crop Insurance Department.
  • Insurance portfolio responsibilities include collection and monitoring of delinquent insurance premiums.  Works with appropriate members of the Crop Insurance Department in determining the proper approach to resolve accounts with delinquent premiums.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of  two years of related work experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of agriculture.
  • Must acquire Crop Insurance License after a maximum of 6 months following hire.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications.
  • Moderate to complex problem solving skills required.

Required Education

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
