Description/Job Summary

POSITION SUMMARY:  Has responsibility for the insurance portfolio and sales of all insurance programs in assigned territory under the supervision of CI Dept. Manager.  Services less than 100 policies.
 
Areas of responsibility include:
 
  • Serves as primary agent for the servicing of crop insurance policies in assigned territory which includes policy changes, collecting production history, acreage information and reporting losses for policy holders. Insurance portfolio responsibilities include collection and monitoring of delinquent insurance premiums.
  • Responsible for sales production of insurance products to customers and non-customer prospects. Develop personal marketing plan with assistance of Manager. Independently call on prospects to sell insurance policies.Provides sales support to Loan Officers in assigned territory.
  • Facilitate problem resolution to the customer’s satisfaction with assistance from Crop Insurance Manager.

Required Experience

  • One to three years’ experience as a licensed crop insurance agent or insurance company representative with sales responsibilities preferred.
  • Strong (oral and written) skills.
  • Must be self-motivated with ability to work independently.
  • Agricultural background and/or sufficient knowledge of agricultural and horticultural production technology.
  • Travel to Farm Credit branch offices,FSA and extension offices, industry events, and producers.
  • Moderate problem solving skills required.
  • Works independently and handles a wide range of activities.
  • Capable of exhibiting good judgment when working with current policyholders and prospective producers considering the purchase of crop insurance.
  • Knowledge of computer software applications relative to full administration of crop insurance and other financially related services programs.

Required Education

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to an Associate degree in Business Administration, Marketing or related field.
